💀 Character Information
Name: Kevin
Canon: Welcome to Night Vale
Canon Point: End of Episode 49: Old Oak Doors B (after he’s been forcibly thrown through a portal into the desert otherworld. For the game he just dies instead).
Age: That would require living in a world where time works correctly. But he looks about 30.
Description: Kevin has no canon appearance outside of the description of being neither tall nor short, neither fat nor thin. That and his eyes are pure black and his smile- if you can call it a smile- is extremely unsettling and full of teeth. For a PB, I picked Jim Sturgess from a movie where he looked a little demonic. This includes the red mark on his face.

Physical changes: N/A
Powers: N/A
History: Link! Since listing out the Night Vale history would make us all cry.
Hell Status: Newbie

What Brings Them To Hell: Murder. Just so much murder. His radio studio is described as being drenched in blood and decorated with human teeth. Also, greed, wrath, pride? He’s got all those in spades as well.

The Pitch:
One of my favorite quotes from Kevin sums up what I find so interesting about him: ‘it feels good to have a crime-free tomorrow, doesn’t it? It makes any crimes that happen today feel justified.’ Essentially, Kevin is a fanatic cult member to the Smiling God of Desert Bluffs, an unknown entity that forcibly took over his town through the use of the (oh so clearly evil) corporation Strex Corp. Anything and everything may be done in the service to these two entities- or, now that he’s in Hell, for the good of Brimstone until his god gets around to taking over his new home.

True to being a worshiper of the ‘Smiling God,’ almost all of Kevin’s actions are done with a smile. Translation: he uses happy little codes for all the horrific things he does instead of just saying it directly. He doesn’t send people to labor camps where they are forced to work in slave like conditions. No, he sends them to a company picnic where they can have the Strex approved brand of fun. Similarly, he didn’t murder several station employees to use their blood as paint on his walls; he redecorated with their assistance. This kind of happy twist on all the many sins he commits means Kevin is typically an incredibly happy and cheerful radio host, always underlining the good in things. This optimistic tone comes with just the smallest underlining of the fact he’s a kind of living nightmare.

Another interesting aspect is that Kevin didn’t start out this way. He was once a young, genuinely kind and optimistic community radio host who fought to keep Strex out of Desert Bluffs. It was only after ‘the light’ came and Kevin was tortured and brainwashed that he became the man he is today, one that offers up a dark reflection of all the dreams and goals he once had. In an episode where a Kevin from the future appears, it seems possible that some of those kinder pieces may still be left inside him, suggesting that under the right circumstances Kevin could either continue as what he is (and thus grow progressively worse) or start to shove a few broken pieces of his soul back together. Given that he’s going to hell in this game, the former seems far more likely.

Setting Fit: An overheated world full of sadists, monsters, and evil bureaucracy? Add a little league team and he could be back in Desert Bluffs. Kevin will try to get a job at/start up a community radio and assume the role of host of his own program, along with allowing many others to fill up the rest of the airtime (PC, NPC, and commercials will be needed). Kevin likes being around productive people, whatever that form of production may be. People that murder a lot, ones that make chairs, evil bureaucrats in Brimstone, all of these are Kevin’s kind of people. He is also a strong believer in community and helping people that don’t support the community to become better. So he will take it upon himself to single out people that are going against the wishes of the powers that be in anyway and try to...improve them.

Only you can determine your future- so long as you remain within Brimstone issued guidelines. Welcome to Little Hades.

Good afternoon, Little Hades. This is Kevin, here to bring you all the news in our happy little town. Now, there's been some talk recently on how Little just doesn't seem to represent our wonderful city these days. I know, I know! But still, with so many new arrivals coming in, why, almost by the hour, I suppose some people may start getting these strange ideas. But that's just silly talk. Little is in the soul of our town- literally! We are all souls. And so very, very little in the grand scheme of things. And besides, it isn't the number of souls that makes us a nice Little town. It's the fact we are all a community. A tightly bound, unified, community. All working together to support our glorious Brimstone corporation in all our...little ways.

Oh, but listen to me go on! We're a new kind of community radio here in Little Hades. We want to hear what you have to say. So call in listeners! We'll be listening very, very closely. In fact, we'll be writing down every. Little. Thing.

So get to those phones, Little Hades! I'll be waiting.

Sample 2: Where Kevin is AUed to be a follower of the Qun in Dragon Age rather than the Smiling God, but is the same personality-wise
